Make A Dovetailed Box

There is a mystique around the dovetail joint.  Once you break it down into an orderly process it all makes sense.  We’ll start preparing our edges with a plane and sharpen our chisels before we tackle the four corners of this box with through dovetail joinery.  We will then place a slot along the bottom using a router and size a complimentary piece of wood for the bottom.

Time: Approximately 16 hours

Cost: $500 includes domestic wood such as black walnut, maple or cherry
